onto a wall without a projector, there are a few things you can do.1. If you use Apple TV as your main
entertainment hub (or even as another entertainment option) and own the latest
model, it's now possible to mirror your laptop screen on the Apple TV. It's
super easy to do: just connect the HDMI cable from the back of your laptop to
an open HDMI input on your TV and select 'AirPlay Mirroring' from Airplay menu
in Control Center on iPhone or iPad; then choose Apple TV as show destination.

With some tweaking, this should also work with the older Apple TV models, although you won't have the benefit of a touchpad-enabled remote control. 3. To connect your laptop to a projector, you'll need an adapter with HDMI out and VGA in. Almost any adapter with HDMI out should work; i've been using the one I got from my last laptop (linked below). You can also try this VGA-to-HDMI converter which connects to your Mac via USB or ThunderBolt. Some of these adapters may require you to press Fn+F2, F3 or F4 keys to switch between various modes (VGA, HDMI and DisplayPort).
